If an item of jewellery is provided with a laboratory certificate this will be clearly stated on the product description. All items, even those without lab certificates are provided with a certificate of authenticity from Lloyd's Jewellery. This can also be used as a document for insurance replacement.

Why are some items not supplied with an SKD or IGI Certificate?

Many jewellery items on our website are not provided with laboratory certificates. The reason being is that this will increase the price of the jewellery item, in a bid to offer low prices on high quality diamond jewellery we offer our own authenticity certificates free of charge. If you feel you would still like a lab certificate we can send your jewellery to be certified at an additional cost (£69-£200 depending on detail of certificate) which will take approximatly 7-10 working days.

SKD Certification

SK Diamonds have been professionally grading diamonds behind the scenes for the jewellery trade since 1956.

 Now the SKD Certificate has been launched to bring our expertise to the public and address the growing concern over frequent misrepresentation of diamond qualities. Consumers need to be assured that the diamond they are buying is the same as that advertised, something that can only be done through professional assessment.

 To the untrained eye, two diamonds that appear identical can actually be of completely different qualities, and therefore values. Even the smallest of differences in grade can effect the diamond´s worth.

IGI Certification

 Each diamond is scientifically analyzed by several gemmologists who use their experience in combination with state-of-the-art equipment to produce an accurate description of the characteristics of the diamond and the quality of its cut. With its detailed information presented in understandable language, the different qualities of a diamond can be truly appreciated

The IGl Diamond Report is essentially a statement attesting to the authenticity of a diamond and provides a reliable and accurate report of its identity and grade based on an internationally recognized system.
