This certificate confirms that the watch is authentic, it is a guarantee that the watch has been checked for authenticity and is a genuine timepiece in its movement, case and bracelet. If a watch is not supplied with origional papers this will be clearly stated in the description and reflected in the price.

Cartier Chronology
1847 Louis-Franois Cartier purchases his first workshop in Paris. Soon, his jewelled creations are decorating royalty and he gains his reputation as ‘the King of jewellers and the jeweller of Kings.
1873 An Egyptian-styled pocket watch signed by Cartier is crafted in gold, diamonds and rubies.
1874 Alfred Cartier takes over his fathers business.
1899 The forth (and last) change of address for Cartier. Alfred’s son Louis Cartier, moves the House to Rue de la Paix,13.
1907 Louis Cartier and Edmond Jaeger sign a long lasting agreement in which Jaeger gives Cartier the exclusive commercial rights to Jaeger’s watch production and Cartier guarantees orders totalling at least 250,000 francs per year.
1911 Originally designed as Cartier’s first ever men’s wristwatch with leather strap for Louis Cartier’s Brazilian friend Alberto Santos- Dumont, the Santos joins Cartier’s retail line.
1913 The launching of the Tortue and a small pendulum clock, Mystrieuse.
1930s Cartier creates a water resistant watch with a special locking system for the Pasha of Marrakech.
1933 Cartier patents the Vendme with centre attached mobile lugs.
1972 A group of investors led by Joseph Kanou , buys Cartier Paris and two years later, Cartier London.
1976 First appearance of the Vrmeil watches for the Les Must de Cartier.
1979 Cartier Monde is established to unify all of the Houses interests.
1983 Presentation of the Panthre.
1985 Pasha is presented, inspired by a model from 1943.
1989 Introduction of the Tank Amricaine
1993 Launching of the Chrono Reflex-movement versions of the Pasha, Cougar and Diabolo de Cartier watches.
1996 Launching of the Tank Franaise watch.
1997 Cartier celebrates its 150th anniversary with three limited editions, each distinguished by a cabochon ruby: 1930s Tank: a swinging levered Tank from 1923; and the Driver, featuring a curved case that resets on the topside of the wrist while driving. Some other innovations are a Tank platinum; a Tank Carre Obus; a limited edition Pasha ; and an automatic Santos.
1998 Cartier creates an exceptional Collection Prive Cartier Paris(CPCP), which is launched at the eighth SIHH. New introductions include: the Pasha Tourbillion; the refined Tortue collection with a Tourbillion whose bridges and pillar plates are cut from a single piece of rock crystal; the Three Diamond Trinity (the watch versions of the famous Three Golds ring); The Parrot, a sumptuous example of a wristwatch with a 187 grams of platinum, 1,013 diamonds and 2 emeralds; and The Pendulette Mystrieuse.
2002 Cartier creates the Roadster watch, inspired by the world automobile designs.
2003 Cartier unveils the Animal Kingdom series of enamel and cloisonn watches set with gemstones.
